Dating from 1840, this large Davenport platter in the Flying Bird pattern is a beautiful example of stone china used on the English dining table in the 19th century. The Davenport Pottery, located in Staffordshire, was known for producing porcelain and stone china of such high quality that King George IV was known to have placed many orders with the manufacturer.
