Description
Woven in the late 19th century by Kurdish tribes living in Iran - once known as Persia - this beautiful rug is typical of its region with bright colors, geometric shapes and floral motifs. The Kurdish style of weaving is a favorite of mine - and I also love the colors and patterns of rugs from the Caucusus - becaue they are not overly formal and their colors and patters work beautifully with all sorts of fabrics in all sorts of rooms. I love that this rug is in wonderful condition but with the gentle wear that gives it charm and character. I found this run in an estate sale and immediately knew it would look fabulous layered on a sisal rug in a dark blue room in our shop. It would look equally chic on a hardwood floor in an entry hall that gives on to a sunlit room and furniture covered in white duck. It would look great anywhere!Ā
