Description
Handwoven by women of the Mississippi Choctaw Nation, these baskets are lovingly made using weaving techniques passed down through generations. Each basket weaver’s work begins with gathering river or swamp reeds, cutting them into small strips, and dying them in the vibrant colors that give the basket its unique character. Each basket’s shape and design is a reflection of its maker’s personal style, even as traditional forms (such as the diamond design) and shapes (such as the bullnose and the vegetable basket) remain common.
Measuring 7'' x 11" this basket is perfect for holding a wine bottle on the dinner table or a bouquet of flowers by the bedside
