Handmade in the village of Laguiole, France, the Forge de Laguiole "Sommeliers" as they are often called are the only high-end Laguiole waiter-style corkscrews to feature the traditional shepherd's cross on most models (check photos).
This waiter's style wine opener was created in collaboration with professional sommeliers. Its ergonomics, elegance, and efficiency earned it the "Prix Design Plus" (the Design Plus award) in Frankfurt, Germany. Additionally, each one of these incredibly efficient masterpieces is entirely hand-assembled and completed by the same craftsman to ensure pride in the completed object.
Handle Material: Karelian Birch. This birch is not a particular species, but is rather a praised grain figure that is most commonly seen in Downy Birch and Silver Birch. (Harvested in Finland).
All Forge de Laguiole corkscrews are made of Martensitic stainless steel and weight around 3 oz (85 grams). It is important to note that high grade (and cost) martensitic stainless steel is used due to its hardness, strength and wear resistance qualities.
Overall length closed is 4.3/4 inches (12 cm). The foils cutter doubles as a bottle cap opener and measures 1.5/8 inches ~4.06 cm).

Shipping
- In-stock items: Please allow 2–4 days for order processing. Once packed, orders ship via UPS Ground or 2-Day Express based on the option selected at checkout. Rates are shown at checkout.
- Custom furniture: Please allow 6–8 weeks for production and white glove delivery. We will contact to coordinate delivery and to secure the best rate.
- As a small business, we are not able to offer free shipping at this time, but we work hard to secure the best possible carrier rates.
Returns
- Returns are accepted within 10 days of delivery for a full refund. Beyond 10 days, items are not returnable.
- Items must be unused and in original condition. A 10% restocking fee applies to returns made at the customer’s request.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged of the wrong item was received. In this case, case we provide a pre-paid return label.
- Exclusions: Seasonal and holiday items, sale items, custom or special orders, antiques, vintage, furniture, one-of-a-kind fine art, and gift cards are final sale.
