Description
This early 20th century Chinese export bamboo three-tier étagère is a wonderful example of the character and craftsmanship found in traditional export furniture. Constructed in what is often referred to as “burnt” bamboo, it has a warm, aged finish and an easy, decorative quality that makes it equally useful for displaying books, objects, or collected treasures.
The underside reveals the handmade construction in particularly lovely detail, including traditional joinery, split-reed shelves, and clenched nail application, all characteristic of Chinese and Japanese export craftsmanship. Petite in scale but full of personality, it would work well tucked into a corner, used as a drinks stand, or placed alongside a chair or sofa.

Shipping + Returns
Shipping
- In-stock items: Please allow 2–4 days for order processing. Once packed, orders ship via UPS Ground or 2-Day Express based on the option selected at checkout. Rates are shown at checkout.
- Custom furniture: Please allow 6–8 weeks for production and white glove delivery. We will contact to coordinate delivery and to secure the best rate.
- As a small business, we are not able to offer free shipping at this time, but we work hard to secure the best possible carrier rates.
Returns
- Returns are accepted within 10 days of delivery for a full refund. Beyond 10 days, items are not returnable.
- Items must be unused and in original condition. A 10% restocking fee applies to returns made at the customer’s request.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged of the wrong item was received. In this case, case we provide a pre-paid return label.
- Exclusions: Seasonal and holiday items, sale items, custom or special orders, antiques, vintage, furniture, one-of-a-kind fine art, and gift cards are final sale.
